Before you start
looking through the pictures you may like to know a few things about
cake design and decoration.
To make life a simple as possible I have divided the
cake picture gallery into "Wedding" and
"Celebration" just decide which type of cake you
want to see and click the button on the left hand side of the screen, as
you view the pictures you will find a variety of different styles and
designs, if you like the shape of one cake and the colour of another,
just tell me and I can make your cake a combination of each of your
choices.
You will no doubt have many questions to ask, so to save
some time I have compiled a list of the most common questions and
answers below.

Questions & Answers
Q, Are the flowers real?
A, NO they are hand made from the finest sugar paste
Q, Are the flowers edible?
A, YES & NO The leaves and petals are
made of sugar paste BUT the stems are made of fine wire with a tape covering
so eating is not advisable.
Q, How long will the flowers last?
A, Difficult to put times on this question because it
all depends on the way the flowers are stored. If you keep them in a dry
environment under a glass case they can last for years.
Q, Can I have flowers that match my Wedding bouquet?
A, Yes within reason, providing the flowers are not
to obscure I can usually make the same flowers or a least offer flowers of a
similar colour.
Q, Are the decorations on the Birthday and Other cakes edible?
A, In the main yes they are. HOWEVER it is
sometimes necessary to use internal supports made from plastic or wire when
the decoration is 3 dimensional. So in these cases it is not advisable.
Q, Can I mix my wedding cakes i.e. can I have a two tier cake made of
sponge cake and a fruit cake?
A, Yes providing the supporting cake is Fruit or you
use a two tier cake display stand in place of traditional cake pillars.
Q, How much notice to I need to give for a Wedding Cake?
A, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I can sometimes
do a short notice cake depending on the decoration you require. BUT, when
you consider that all the floral decorations are hand made, and can take
weeks to prepare, it is always advisable to place the order for your wedding
cake a good three months in advance of the wedding.
Q, Do you deliver?
A, I can arrange local delivery and
erection of Wedding cakes (please
ask for prices when placing your order),
but I will only deliver Celebration cakes under extreme circumstances and at additional
cost.
Q, Do you supply Wedding cake top decorations other than Flowers?
A, Yes I also have a selection of traditional cake
tops to offer, Please ask when you call.
Q, I want a Birthday cake that reflects the interests of my partner, can
you design something that has a hobby or interest theme to it ?
A, Yes, If the person receiving the cake has a Hobby
or interest that you would like incorporated in the design, bring a sample,
or picture, with you when you visit me and I will try and use it in the
design.
Q, Do you make 3D shaped cakes?
A, We can make "some" 3D
Sponge cakes BUT please remember that this type of cake takes much longer than
conventional cake and can also involve a lot of waste, they therefore attract
a premium price!
So please, please, please, DO NOT ASK
FOR A 3D CAKE AT SHORT NOTICE!!
